   Greetings everyone!

I hope everyone has had a good 2 weeks or so- I know I have :). Unfortunately, I have not had any time to work on any new projects, but I did finally take pics of some projects I am working on. I am currently in the middle of packing to move, so i took these as they were being boxed up. The first picture is of the beginning of the Norwegian sock. The pattern supposedly is from the 20th century, but the pattern dates back to the 1500's at least. I am trying to research the history of Scandinavian knitting to see if this would be something they would actually create. This one is made out of acrylic yarn, and is a chocolate brown and a medium green. Typically what I will do is try a pattern out in acrylic yarn for several reasons: 1) its cheap 2) its basically indestructible 3) I can use this for demo's or so people can see a sample of my work, and if it gets ruined or lost I won't be as upset as if it was expensive material. Since I started in the SCA, I've been trying to upgrade my material quality, but I will always fall back on acrylic to try out a pattern.

When I first started out this pattern, I thought I would be adventurists and try it out in 100% cotton first. Unfortunatly, I had to restart it quite a few times, and the fiber has worn thin in some places, but I have gotten through the heel in this one. I will continue this after I get to the same spot in the acrylic yarn. The cotton version is medium blue and medium red.

The pattern states it is for a woman with a medium sock size. Being that I wear a size 11, I do not think I fit in that category. This will be added to my demo collection when it is complete. I have just been commissioned for some fingerless gloves for a dear friend of mine. They are def. not period in any way shape or form, but they should only take a day or so to make. Once they are done, I will more then likely finish my plain snood, then continue onto my brown and green socks. I would love to start doing embroidery work, so I might throw that into the mix also. My biggest problem is having too many projects started at once!

Well I must get back to packing. I will be moving on Wednesday, and Will hopefully be able to write again either this following Sunday or 2 Sundays from now. Hope everyone has a good week!
