I have not really done much of this and will probably use it far and few between. I figure I am still at a beginning in my SCA life as I have been involved somewhat for four years, but have been busy with mundane life that I have not been able to be involved as much as I would like. I know I mention that a lot, but it seems to hold true to a point of being strangled at times. I would love to be as open and available as others, but alas my work, home, school, and three year old keep me tied down a bit. I do not mind the three year old and home, but the others are necessary evils.
I have submitted my name and device to see what will happen. It was after that I noted someone else with an almost identical device, so I expect to have to make changes. I do my best to contribute, although it is ever so small. I get satisfaction to know I have helped in some small way nonetheless.
My hope for this journey is to learn more about what I am capable of, to be able to get to know my fellow Scadians better, and to enjoy my time away from mundane life. I have learned some scribal, knitting, silk painting (although I am not planning to pursue this skill), and garb making. I love history. Being able to live history is very exciting to me. It also gives me an outlet for those archaic skills that do not have as much need in our hectic modern times.
I hope to be able to continue to learn and maybe to pass on what I have learned. I hope to have my son grow up with the principles we play by, and to know what respect, merit, and work truly are. I will try to utilize this medium to grow and share what I am learning.
