So after some careful digging for a friend getting back into the society after an incredibly long hiatus(as well as her significant other, who is new), I have come across some patterns that may come in handy to everyone here.

Here we have a pattern for a viking underdress that, while it negates the use of certain useful things like gores under the armpit, it makes them largely unnecessary by means of how the garment is constructed. The item is...

Well, its currently storming out, and we had just lost power for about 15minutes, which makes it quite difficult to work, so i figured I would do a bit of writing just in case it goes out again. While balancing school and trying to get work done, I was semi productive. Jehan and I have been discussing the wedding, and I finished my first snood. The first one has pearls in it to give it a bit of detail, and I just prefer them with the added beads. I am going to start another one soon, but this...

well it definitely has been a long time since I have been on. School has been extremely crazy for me, and with the club and classes I haven't had much time to myself. I am still working on my Norwegian-influenced socks, and I have a goal of getting at least one finished by the end of summer (i've been working on the same sock since January, lol). As soon as I'm done I will make sure to post pictures. I finished up classes about 2 weeks ago, and I am currently working on my clincals for the...

I have a confession to make: In my real life, I'm a graduate student, just about to defend my dissertation plan and go into the long final year of collecting data, testing it, and writing about the results in a big, long book-length piece of work (and then, the job search, which is scary as hell right now in this economy when education and teaching and research are all being increasingly devalued - but that's another blog). In a word, I'm becoming a professional academic. As a result, my life...

So this is my latest creation. It is a purple houppelande trimed and lined in "fur". The purple is a synthetic velvetine, and the fur is fake mink, which I am assuming is acrylic. This thing is very heavy, and very warm. This houpe does have a waist seam, like my perivious houpe (due to the amount of fabric I had to work with and lack of $$$ to purchase more), which is hidden by the belt. The font opens to a little lower than my natural waist. Much of the lining on the...
